Before this elephant was spotted, it went through weeks of excruciating hell with a poacher's cable snare around its leg.
The damage was horrific, and everybody suggested euthanasia.
"Like hell," Prof Cobus Raath said, "I'll make him walk again."
And he did - without a limp.
